About Solely Swing
Solely Swing is a student organization at Virginia Tech with the goal of spreading the love and knowledge of swing dancing. We host dances, lessons, and other events throughout the semester. No experience or partner is ever necessary, and all of our dances are FREE! Just show up, be ready to dance, and have fun!
Our officers will be wearing yellow sashes during each social dance to be more easily identifiable. If you would like to give us feedback on the event, get involved in our community, ask questions about Solely Swing, or have any concerns about safety, please to come talk to one of us!

Katrina Newby -- President
Katrina is a senior at VT, and has been dancing for 2 years. She plans to graduate in Spring of 2022 with a bachelors in mechanical engineering. She loves all things music, also dances ballroom and west coast swing, sings, composes, and is a member of the Marching Virginians.

Sidney Dennis -- Vice President
Sidney is a senior here at Tech, and has been dancing for 3 years. He plans to graduate in Spring of 2022 with a bachelors in mechanical engineering. He is a member of the Virginia Tech Formula SAE team and is a vehicle enthusiast.

Harley Ramsey -- Treasurer
Harley is a third year graduate student at VT, and has been dancing for a year. He plans to graduate in 2024 with a Doctoral degree in Chemistry. His hobbies include listening to Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox, going to races at Motor Mile Dragway, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and of course Swing dancing.

Jonathan Florence - Event Coordinator
Jonathan Florence is a sophomore studying for an environmental conservation and society degree at Virginia Tech and plans to graduate with the class of 2024. Jonathan has been dancing for a little over four years and has tried Latin, Ballroom, and a few other styles, but swing dancing is by far the style he enjoys most. He also loves hiking, slacklining, and making, and listening to music.
